Ole Miss vs. Miami

The Ole Miss Rebels will take on the Miami Hurricanes on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 7:30 pm on ESPN.

The No. 6 Ole Miss Rebels and No. 10 Miami Hurricanes are set to play in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl, a College Football Playoff semifinal, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Historically, they’ve only faced each other three times, all back in the 1930s and ’40s, with Ole Miss leading the series 2-1. The last game was in 1951, when Miami won 20-7. This will be their first meeting since then, and it’s for a spot in the national championship.

Both teams earned their way here with big wins in the quarterfinals. Ole Miss came back to beat Georgia 39-34 in the Sugar Bowl, thanks to a strong performance from quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and a late field goal. Miami upset defending champion Ohio State 24-14 in the Cotton Bowl, leaning on a solid defense and transfer QB Carson Beck.

Ole Miss has one of the top offenses in the country, while Miami brings a tough defensive front that’s been key in their playoff run. It’s a neutral-site game with high stakes— the winner heads to the title game in Miami on January 19.
